Pete Sauerborn

Pete Sauerborn is Chief Operating Officer at Toast, where he leads the Customer Success, Hardware Operations, and International business functions. Pete brings more than three decades of experience in tech, ecommerce, and retail. Prior to joining Toast, Pete was the executive chairman and CEO of FTD, Inc., a provider of ecommerce and point of sale software and services to independent flower shops. Prior to FTD Pete served as CEO at Catch.com.au, a leading Australian ecommerce marketplace. Prior to Catch, Pete spent a decade leading the teams that scaled the Amazon.com third-party Marketplace from $15B in gross merchandise sales to over $200B in ten years. Early on, Pete developed a strong passion for empowering entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive through formative experiences including his first job working at the 49er family restaurant in Encinitas, CA and later in college as a cook at the Burger Factory in San Luis Obispo, CA. Pete has a B.A. in English from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
